Panel discussion on the UN Charter to mark UN75
We must remind each other that the Charter of the United Nations began with,
“We the peoples…”
To mark the 75th Anniversary of the UN, NBC in collaboration with UN Namibia hosted a panel discussion that outlined the importance of the UN charter which reaffirms fundamental human rights for all and how it resonates with Namibia's 30th Independence Anniversary.
The panel also unpacked the importance of multilateralism for the harmonization of shared goals and aspirations, and the relevance of youth participants who are the proprietors for charting “The future we want, the future we need.”
The discussion was streamed live on NBC TV to encourage public participation. The panel members comprised of:
- Hon. Jenelly Matundu, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation;
- Mr. Sen Pang, UN Resident Coordinator in Namibia;
- Ms. Ruusa Ntinda, Lawyer and advocate for people with albinism; and
- Mr. Isdor Kamati, librarian and research assistant at the Namibia Scientific Society Library
