UNCHR UPR Working Group Report on Namibia's Human Rights Record

On 7 May 2021, the UN Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group adopted its report on Namibia's human rights record with Namibia's delegation headed by the Minister of Justice, Ms. Yvonne Dausab.

The Working Group, established in accordance with Human Rights Council resolution 5/1, held its thirty-eighth session from 3 to 14 May 2021. Namibia's human rights record was reviewed at its first meeting on 3 May 2021 and it is the third time Namibia's record has been reviewed by the UNHCR UPR Working Group. Namibia’s first and second UPR reviews took place in January 2011 and January 2016, respectively.
