I wake up , sitting at the edge of my bed praying, Lord please let today be a better day. Endless calls of sick patients, prescriptions , advice… COVID-19 what have you done to our lives . I enter the hospital, full wards, everyone on oxygen, coughing, short of breath, struggling to breath. Lord please don’t let a patient come on my shift needing a bed, there is none, Lord please don’t let me need to resuscitate another patient , I cannot watch another person die again . I go home, smile, hug, kiss my family but on the inside I am sad and thinking Lord please don’t let me bring this virus home. Protect me and my family, please. I browse my facebook page , so many opinions, new ‘experts’ on vaccine and COVID-19. Frustrated sad and tired , Lord please show us a way please open their eyes . Read a new article, listen to a webinar trying to stay up to date. Fatigue sets in and we reset a new day, with the same worries wondering will it ever end? It feels like we are fighting a war we will never win.
Have you stopped to imagine what healthcare workers on the frontline are going through? what they are seeing?what they are fighting? what they are losing? About their worries , their fears, their feelings? Do they have any kind of personal choice or personal opinion? So then why should you? Who are you protecting, who are you helping? Please take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself what can I do to make it easier on healthcare workers how can we help them win this war how can we make it easier on them . The answer : Get vaccinated!!
