The UN SDG Book Club Africa Chapter is commemorating this important day with a series of readings from its Book Club reading lists.
The International Day of the African Child, June 16th, commemorates the killing and maiming of African schoolchildren in Soweto by the Apartheid government of South Africa on this day June 16th 1976. The student protesters were agitating for better education for black children.
