Sen Pang exit courtesy call to the President of the Republic of Namibia

Mr. Sen Pang undertakes exit courtesy call to Statehouse for completion of assignment in Namibia.
Mr. Pang has served a total of 3 years as the UN Resident Coordinator to Namibia. During his tenure UN Namibia supported the Government in ensuring inclusive development and poverty reduction for vulnerable groups and remote communities.
The strategic partnership engagements secure achievements in access of sanitation, monthly screening of children for acute malnutrition, availing contraceptive devices to women and girls, upscaling of skill development in disability, training of teachers in early literacy and numeracy skills, etc.
Under his leadership, UN system in Namibia have been able to deliver the ethos of partnership, a fundamental building block for the SDGs and engaging young people to upstream dialogue in empowering women to build sustainable communities.
In his press briefing at state house he encouraged Namibia to stop exporting raw materials and to become self-sustainable. Mr. Pang noted that the country will greatly benefit if it decides to add value domestically and export finished products. Pang commended the Government of Namibia for sailing through the tough times under the great leadership of H.E. Dr. Hage G. Geingob, the President.
The President in turn spoke highly of the collaboration with UN Namibia, he reminded Pang that Namibia is a child of international solidarity, midwifed by the UN.
Mr. Pang is slated to go on retirement following the conclusion of his last posting in Namibia.
