FAO in partnership with the Government of Korea and the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform provide water access to farmers across 3 regions.

A few months ago small-stock farmer, Ms. Gorthartine Shinavene, lost 2/3 of her goats and cattle as the severe drought situation in many parts of the country meant lack of grazing and water for farmers livestock.

But through the interventions of the “Improving water access in the drought affected regions of Namibia” project, which rehabilitated boreholes in the Erongo region, Ms. Gorthartine's remaining livestock have received a lifeline with access to water no longer a challenge.

This life saving project which has provided water access to farmers across 3 regions (Erongo, Omusati & Kunene) was funded by Government of Korea & implemented by Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform through its Directorate of Water Supply in partnership with FAO.
