Report of the Secretary-General on the work of the Organization

The annual report on the work of the Organization provides an overview of the highlights of the previous year, indicates the major areas of activity on the work of the UN around the world and outlines future priorities. 

Although not part of the general debate per se, the Secretary-General introduces his report to the Member States immediately prior to the opening of the general debate.

Mandated by Article 98 of the UN Charter, the report is submitted to the General Assembly and is published as an official document.
